Is anyone else riding in the Cat 5 < 35?
I'm looking forward to seeing everyone on Saturday.

JB,
Wish I could. I really wish I was able to ride the <35 part. Nope. License reads 50 this season. We'll get to work together at some less segregated Cat 5 events. Good luck!
Almost forgot. I'm on call and won't even be able to attend.

Actually USCF/USA Cycling rules allow you to race a lower age group down to the group that includes 19-34 year olds. Likewise Juniors can race a higher age group up to the group that includes 19-34 year olds. All age groups that exclude 19-34 year olds receive penalty points (ranking points). So if you were to race the Cat 5 <35 you would save yourself 25 penalty points over racing the Cat 5 35+.
Monty,
That's OK for Cat 1-4, but does it really matter for Cat 5?
I'm going to enjoy one full season of Cat 5 racing before I plan to move up after the Carolina's Cup.
I'd like to experience a little more success (like you did) before making the move to 4.

We all like success. Winning rules! I think success can be easier and more fun to achieve working together as a team. We have a lot of strong riders in Cat 5, if we can get organized and work some strategies VeloProject.com could make a name for itself. JB is stuck in the <35, rules don't allow him to race 35+. Another thing I have noticed is the top ranked Cat 5 guys are almost always 35+ despite the age group penalty, so in theory, it should be easier to win in a <35 group and as a bonus you don't get age group penalty points.
